The Coffee Shop
In development
Story
A painter who hasn't picked up a brush in three months walks into a coffee shop and meets the architect who gives her a reason to start again.
Maya Chen hasn't painted in three months. She sits in her regular coffee shop, sketchbook open, pencil untouched. Architect James Okafor takes the only empty seat at her table and recognizes the half-finished cityscape in her book. Their conversation moves from polite to personal to professional: he needs a muralist for a community center he's building. By evening, Maya's sketchbook is full again and she's picking up the phone to say yes.
