Welcome to Lowerated. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lowerated platform, including our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Lowerated is an all-in-one filmmaking platform designed for screenwriters, directors, producers, and creative teams. The Service provides tools for screenwriting, production planning, casting and location management, budgeting and scheduling, collaboration, and AI-assisted creative workflows. Lowerated is operated by Lowerated Inc. ("we," "us," or "our").
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
To access most features of the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address or through a supported third-party authentication provider (such as Google). You are responsible for:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, remain inactive for an extended period, or are used for fraudulent purposes.
You may use a limited version of the Service at no cost. The Free Plan includes access to one project with basic editing features and limited AI capabilities. We may modify the scope of the Free Plan at any time.
Lowerated offers a modular subscription model. You may subscribe to one or more modules — including Script Writer, Planner, Casting & Locations, Budgeting & Scheduling, Production Support, and Collaborator Credits — on either a monthly or annual billing cycle. Annual subscriptions are offered at a discounted rate.
As an alternative to subscriptions, you may purchase a prepaid AI credit deposit. PAYG credits are consumed as you use AI-powered features and do not expire. You may optionally enable automatic recharges when your balance is depleted.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. You authorize us to charge the payment method on file for recurring subscription fees.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to process the charge again and may provide a short grace period. If payment remains unsuccessful, your access to paid features may be suspended until the issue is resolved.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing cycle.
We may adjust pricing for our modules and add-ons from time to time. If we increase the price of a subscription you are currently paying for, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or store using the Service — including scripts, screenplays, character profiles, storyboards, production documents, and all other creative work ("Your Content"). Lowerated does not claim any intellectual property rights over Your Content.
By uploading or creating content on the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license terminates when you delete Your Content or close your account.
You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have the necessary rights to all content you upload and that Your Content does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Lowerated uses AI models (including large language models and image generation) to power features such as script assistance, story development, storyboard generation, casting suggestions, and budget analysis. When using these features:
Lowerated allows you to invite collaborators to your projects with role-based access (Owner, Admin, Editor, Commenter, or Viewer). You are responsible for managing access to your projects and the actions of any collaborators you invite.
Collaborator capacity depends on your subscribed modules and any additional Collaborator Credits you have purchased. If you remove a module or reduce your plan, you may need to adjust your team accordingly.
Certain modules include cloud storage for documents, images, and media files. Base storage is provided with the Production Support module, with additional storage available as purchasable add-ons. If you exceed your storage quota, you may be unable to upload new files until you free space or purchase additional storage.
We will make commercially reasonable efforts to preserve the integrity and availability of your stored data. However, you are encouraged to maintain your own backups of important files.
You agree not to use the Service to:

The Service, including its design, code, logos, trademarks, and documentation, is the exclusive property of Lowerated Inc. and is protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our branding, trademarks, or proprietary materials except as expressly permitted.
The Service integrates with third-party providers for payment processing (Stripe), authentication (including Google OAuth), cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure), and AI capabilities. Your use of these integrations may be subject to the terms and privacy policies of those third parties. We are not responsible for the actions or policies of third-party services.
If you choose to sign in with Google, you authorize Lowerated to access your basic profile information (name, email address, and profile photo) from your Google Account for the sole purpose of account creation and authentication. Lowerated's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For full details, see Section 5 of our Privacy Policy.
You may revoke Lowerated's access to your Google Account at any time via your Google Account permissions.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lowerated Inc., its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lowerated Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at info@lowerated.com. Upon account closure:
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time if you materially breach these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a prominent notice within the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lowerated Inc. is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
